Tell City Council: Please pledge to support Majority Proposal for Paid Sick Days

On September 8th, a majority of Seattle City Councilmembers announced their support for the Majority Proposal of the Paid Sick Days ordinance, which would provide paid leave to employees in Seattle when they or their family members become ill or fall victim to domestic violence.

Supporters of the new ordinance include Councilmembers Nick Licata, Tim Burgess, Jean Godden, Mike O’Brien, Sally Clark and Bruce Harrell. The Majority Proposal is supported by the Seattle Coalition for a Healthy Workforce, and will be voted on Monday, September 12th.

But we can't celebrate just yet. Big business lobbyists are making a last ditch effort to water down the ordinance, and we need you there to show your support for the Council members who are standing up for Seattle’s working people and families.

Please join us for a 1:30 PM rally at City Hall Plaza, followed by a march up the steps to attend the 2:00 PM Council meeting and witness the vote on paid sick days!

Sign this petition to thank the Council members who pledged their support for a strong bill -- and urge the full council to vote 'yes' on Monday!
