Every day, over and over, women still earn 77 cents on the dollar

fairpay

Fifty years after the Equal Pay Act was signed into law, women are still, on average, paid 23 percent less than men for the same work. Women of color and mothers experience increased wage hits on top of that.

It's time to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act in order to close loop holes in the Equal Pay Act, to break harmful patterns of wage discrimination, and to strengthen workplace protections for women.

Tell your members of Congress to co-sponsor and support the Paycheck Fairness Act NOW by taking action in the form to the right.

Dear Member of Congress,

I’m a MomsRising member and your constituent and I'm writing to urge you to make passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act a top priority.

Paycheck fairness is not a just “women’s issue.” It’s a family issue and a national economic issue. The majority of families these days need the wages of two parents to make ends meet, and getting equal pay for equal work would go a long way toward helping family economic security and toward putting the nation on the road to economic recovery.

Sincerely,
