Tell Congress to Extend Unemployment Benefits!

Woman paying bills

Since December 28th, 2 million people were unceremoniously kicked off of Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) benefits when Congress failed to extend these important benefits before leaving for their holiday vacation.

The Senate has passed a bi-partisan bill to extend these vital benefits and now it is up to the House of Representatives to vote and push this bill across the finish line. We need your voice to help guarentee your Representative votes "yes" on this important bill.

We need to let Congress know that they must extend unemployment benefits as soon as possible!

Write your Members of Congress and tell them, “Don’t leave the unemployed out in the cold. Extend unemployment benefits as soon as possible!”

I strongly urge you to extend Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) benefits immediately.

Many mothers and families depend on EUC to help pay the mortgage, put food on the table, pay the utilities and gas bill, and provide medication for their children. Without it, the effects of joblessness would be even harsher than they already are.

If EUC is not renewed as soon as possible, 2 million unemployed workers and their families will continue to be without benefits. In 2012 alone, unemployment insurance kept more than 1.7 million people, including 655,000 women and 446,000 children, from falling into poverty.

Please do not leave these families out in the cold—extend unemployment benefits for 2014 immediately!
