This Thanksgiving let's make school lunch!
    Dear Friend,

Tis the season for turkey, kitschy side dishes, and once-a-year meals. But, before the family festivities can start, there's one thing left to do: Tell Congress to pass the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act (S.3307), a piece of legislation that could affect the meals our children eat every day.

The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act would make historic improvements in school and child care nutrition to address both childhood hunger and obesity. For the first time in 30 years we have a chance to improve school lunches across this country.

But Congress may let this chance slip by.

Children can't afford to wait any longer: Nearly 1 in 4 U.S. children stand on the brink of hunger in the U.S. right now AND 1 in 3 children are obese or overweight.

*This Thanksgiving, join me in urging Congress to pass the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act and restore funding to food stamps:

Unlike Thanksgiving, lunch doesn’t come once a year: It’s every day. Please take a moment to remind Congress that families are counting on them.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving, make school lunch-- Better!

For the first time in 30 years we have a chance to improve school lunches across this country. The U.S. House will vote next week on whether to update and re-authorize the Child Nutrition Act with the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, and we've got to tell our legislators to vote yes. Send a quick note to your legislators today:
