Dear Congressional leader,

It's past time to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act. It's been over 50 years since the Equal Pay Act was enacted, but women still earn, on average, 23 percent less than men earn. Mothers and women of color experience increased wage hits on top of that. 

Frustratingly, we don't have all the tools we need to combat the wage gap because many employees face retaliation from their employers if they simply inquire about wage discrepancies.

The Paycheck Fairness Act will help, because among other things, the Paycheck Fairness Act prohibits employers from retaliating against workers who discuss salaries with colleagues and requires employers to prove that pay differences exist for legitimate, job-related reasons.

Let's put an end to the "Mad Men" era policies and pass the Paycheck Fairness Act.
