Dear Member of Congress,
Moms and kids can't wait any longer - we are behind increased investments in affordable, high-quality child care and early learning opportunities to ensure all children are ready and successful for school and life. We need real change like the early learning investments made in President Obama's budget proposal that include:
- Expanding access to high-quality childcare and preschool
- Increasing the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit to help working families afford childcare
- Expanding high-quality early learning opportunities for infants and toddlers
- Increasing access to evidence-based home visitng programs
Leading economists agree, investments in high-quality early learning programs like preschool actually save future dollars for everyone. In fact, children who have high-quality early learning experiences are more likely to succeed in school, graduate from high school, gain stable employment, and are less likely to be arrested later in life. Studies show that for every dollar invested in high-quality early learning, we see a return of up to $7.00.
Sadly, quality child care now costs more than college in our nation—and even though parents need safe, enriching places for children to be so they can work, too few options are available.
It’s a national emergency.
We can't afford to lose another day. Please support increased investments in our country's littlest learners like in President Obama's proposed budget.
