On Wednesday, April 17, a day of shame for American democracy, 45 Senators defied the will of the people and chose the gun lobby over the safety of families and communities.

Cowed by threats from pro-gun extremists, those 45 Senators abandoned their duty to the American people who overwhelmingly support background checks. But this isn't the end of the road.

We are not giving up.

Together, we can show our Senators and Congress that we are paying attention, watching their votes, and counting on them to prioritize families over the gun lobby.

MomsRising will take this petition and deliver it to Congress, with a special focus on each and every Senator who threw moms and families under the bus. We will deliver it with the message that we noted their vote for the gun lobby over the safety of our children and communities, that we will remember, and that we expect them to prioritize families over the gun lobby in the future.
