Support paid parental leave at the Apex Town Council!
While the country’s attention has been focused on the national level, some incredibly important changes for families have been happening right here in our own NC communities. And, on Tuesday, the momentum for change is coming to Apex!
Last summer in Greensboro, city council members voted to provide paid parental leave to city employees as they welcome a new child to their family. The momentum has been building from there with Durham County, Wake County, and Cary all voting this fall to follow Greensboro’s lead and provide paid parental leave to their own employees.
Now it’s Apex’s turn! On Tuesday night, February 7, at 7 pm, the Apex Town Council will be considering a proposal to provide 6-8 weeks paid parental leave to town employees.
We’re asking folks to put on your favorite pink or blue shirt and join us as we pack the crowd to make sure Apex Town Council Members know the community is paying attention and supports paid parental leave for town employees.
Here are all the details:
When: Tuesday, February 7, at 7 pm
Where: Apex Town Hall Council Chamber (2nd Floor), 73 Hunter Street, Apex
What to wear: Pink or blue to show support for paid parental leave
