It's time to own our power–join us for a SUPER HERO voting parade!
On Saturday, October 29th, from 10 AM-12 PM, MomsRising is joining forces with our friends to hold a super hero party and parade through downtown Durham to celebrate one of our most powerful super powers—VOTING!
For the seventh year in a row, we’ll be celebrating early voting with a family-friendly voting celebration at the Durham Main Library in partnership with Kids Voting Durham, Lango Kids RTP, Jack and Jill, SoDu Parents Posse, Parents of Northern Durham, and Durham Parents for Change.
There will be a voting-related story time, super hero crafts (including making your own cape), and the kids will even have a chance to cast their own vote with Kids Voting Durham. Then, with our capes flying, we will march with a real marching band through downtown to the Durham early voting location where parents registered to vote in Durham can cast their own ballots with their kids by their side.
Here are all the details:
When: Saturday, October 29th, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM
Where: Durham Main Library Auditorium, 300 N. Roxboro St, ending at the downtown early voting location at 201 N. Roxboro St., Durham (Durham Board of Elections).
It’s going to be powerful and fun! So we hope you’ll round up your Super Heroes and Super Heroes-in-Training and plan to join us. RSVP here so we can make sure we have enough capes for everyone!
