What’s the emergency? Health care is on the chopping block right now. 23 million people are in danger of losing their coverage. In fact, a disastrous effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA)/Obamacare and make massive cuts to Medicaid, CHIP, and Medicare are at the top of President Trump’s and some members of Congress' agenda right now. In addition, President Trump released his full budget recently and it reveals a greed and heartlessness that is breathtaking in scope—and devastating to our economy. He wants to cut SNAP (food stamps) by $193 billion over the next ten years, severely harming the 40 million people, especially children and elderly, that rely on SNAP to put food on the table.
We need to make our voices heard loud and clear that we won't stand for these cruel and heartless policy proposals. (Don’t forget: There are heroes in Congress, too. Some have been protecting these programs and they need to hear from us as well so they know we’re behind them as they fight for all of us).
