Dear Member of Congress,
I am writing to you today as your constituent.  The situation with rising health care, food, and child care costs is urgent. Please work with your colleagues to restore health care, SNAP, and child care so people can build good lives and our economy is stabilized – and reopen the government immediately.
The government shutdown is leaving  families on the brink – including your constituents: SNAP benefits end on November 1 for 42 million families across the country, health care cuts will rip away health care for 17 million Americans, while the expiration of the ACA tax credits are increasing premiums for 24 million Americans. Also, as of November 1, without continued funding, Head Starts in 41 states and Puerto Rico are in danger of closing their doors, which will push parents out of much-needed jobs and push children out of much-needed early education. All of this hurts the economy, businesses, and families alike.
Hard-working American families who are contributing to their communities and our country, need you to have their back and reopen the government immediately with restored  health care, SNAP, and Head Start. Voters sent members to Congress to represent them and have long prioritized these programs.
Please get back to the negotiating table to restore health care, SNAP, and Head Start and reopen the government for the sake of families, communities, businesses, and our economy.
