Tell Us About the Immigrant Caregivers in Your Life

Across the country, the Trump administration's cruel immigration policies, including ending protections like Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and threatening programs such as DACA, are tearing families apart and taking away legal work status from over a million workers, many of whom are healthcare, home care, and child care workers. As immigrant caregivers face the loss of their ability to work and remain with their families, countless families are also facing the heartbreaking loss of trusted caregivers who have become part of their lives. The result is greater uncertainty and even more barriers to finding the affordable, reliable care that children, older adults, and people with disabilities depend on every day.
Whether you are a parent, grandparent, person with a disability, family caregiver, employer, or someone whose caregiver has been affected by these policies, your story matters.
We want to hear how the loss of TPS, DACA or other immigration protections has impacted you, your family, your workplace, or your community. Have you heard of caregivers in your community losing work authorization or facing threats of deportation? Have you struggled to afford or find care in your community, or heard of childcare, home care, or healthcare worker shortages in your community? By sharing your story, you can help lawmakers understand the real-life consequences of these policies and why Congress must act to protect immigrant families, caregivers, and the care infrastructure our communities depend on. Please do not share any identifying information in your story.
