Send a Letter to the Editor telling Congress to Reject Attacks on Public Education
Send a letter to the editor opposing Trump’s dangerous attacks on public education and urging your members of Congress to invest in public schools and rein in the Trump administration’s unchecked control!
The Trump administration, in concert with newly confirmed Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, followed through on their threats to dismantle the Department of Education by firing nearly 50% of its staff. This latest attack will have dire consequences and our children will be the ones who pay the price. With the significant reduction in staff, Trump, Musk, and McMahon have effectively shuttered the agency and gutted its ability to support public schools – compromising our children’s legal right to quality and equitable public education.
Now is the perfect time to remind them that regardless of political affiliation, most Americans oppose eliminating the Department of Education and we want to see public education thriving, funded, and protected from the incompetence of unqualified, self-serving, billionaire government figureheads.
