Get the Washington State Millionaires Tax over the finish line!

We’re celebrating a win that Washington families made possible. The Millionaires Tax (SB 6346) passed the State Senate this week! Hooray!!

But our work here isn't done. We need your help thanking our Senators and urging the House to get the Millionaires Tax across the finish line!

Our state is currently facing a $2.3 billion budget shortfall caused by Trump’s tariffs, billionaire tax breaks, and federal cuts to health care, education, food assistance, and more. To manage that, the Governor has proposed $322 million in cuts to child care and early learning this year—meaning families are going to be taking the hit. The impacts are going to impact our entire state: Washington’s worsening child care crisis will take a $6 billion hit to the state’s economy each year if we don’t take action. It’s time for the House to step up and pass a new, fair way to raise money for our state, stat!

The Washington State Senate voted to pass SB 6346—a huge step towards making our state’s tax code more equitable. As a constituent of your district, I urge you to vote for the bill in the House as is. Our state is facing a multi-year, painful budget deficit, leaving our state without the resources needed to fully fund child care, K–12 education, and health care—while working families shoulder the cost and the wealthiest few contribute the least.

The Millionaires Tax will help rebalance the scales, generating nearly $3.5 billion annually from just 0.005% of the population to strengthen our state budget and help offset federal cuts to food assistance, health care, and other essential programs. Only an estimated 20,000 households here make that much a year—the top 0.2% of Washingtonians.

This proposal would transform our state’s ability to fully fund the programs our families need and take some much-needed pressure off Washingtonians. Your constituents of your district are ready to stand with you in a vote for the Millionaires Tax, SB 6346!
