Count on me for child care!
North Carolina state legislators went home at the beginning of July for their own summer break – but they left without passing a budget (which was due July 1!) to fund early learning, K-12 education, and much more.
As a result, they’ve left the child care and early learning programs our families depend on in a bind, with many programs struggling to keep their doors open.
We need to remind lawmakers that just because it’s summer doesn’t mean they don’t still have things to do – and saving child care needs to be at the top of their list.
We know summer is busy, that’s why we’re going to make it quick and easy for you to be heard loud and clear. We’re going to have three opportunities for you to use your outside voice for child care. You can just do one or all three – either way it will make a big difference.
The morning of August 12th you’ll get a note from me with opportunities to:
1) Send a note directly to your lawmaker.
2) Call your lawmaker and tell them why child care and early learning matter to you and to our state. We’ll make it easy to connect and even give you talking points.
3) Raise a ruckus for child care on social! Whatever social platform you’re on, we’ve got you. We’ll get you all the tools you need to help us flood social media.
