Share Your Story about Abortion Pills
People against abortion access are spreading harmful misinformation to policymakers. In fact, they are using every trick in the book to make medication abortion harder, if not downright impossible to access. From making up fake science, to falsely claiming the medication is unsafe, to even saying that women aren’t smart enough to take the pills safely at home - all in order to try to ban mifepristone (mife, rhymes with “jiffy”).
The truth is mife is a safe, effective medication that has been used to end a pregnancy (and for other health treatments too!) for over 25 years. It is even safer than Viagra. To be clear, because of the recent abortion bans and restrictions, it is one of the only ways that some women have access to abortion care.
Why Your Voice Matters
Your voice is needed. Why? If you, or someone you love, ever had a medication abortion, needed mifepristone, or have used abortion pills, your real-life experience can help counter misinformation and protect access to care.
- You can protect access to this medication: Sharing your story helps lawmakers understand how access or lack of access has affected you or someone you love.
- You can help others: Your story gives comfort and support reminding others that they are not alone.
People who have used abortion pills are the most important voices in the fight to save mifepristone!
